The 2019 fundraising campaign by the United Way for Cortland County has officially reached its midway point.
The United Way, which funds 15 different programs at area nonprofit agencies, set a goal of $380,000 at its kickoff in September.
They’re now reporting that the campaign has raised just over $190,000, or 51% of goal.
To date, 40 employers have participated in workplace campaigns and 27 businesses have made a corporate gift.
“This is not United Way’s campaign,” said Christella Yonta, Executive Director of the United Way. “This campaign belongs to everyone in Cortland County. The campaign is about saying yes to ensuring every member of our community succeeds.”
Over the last 5 years, United Way for Cortland County has re-invested more than $1.2 Million locally to benefit the lives of our friends and neighbors. “Every dollar counts and every dollar is put to good use,” said Yonta.
