Ithaca Police say the Tompkins County Public Library was the target of a bomb threat on Friday (December 14), the second for the Ithaca area in consecutive days.
Friday’s scare came after similar threats came up at dozens of locations in cities across the country on Thursday (December 13), including the Ithaca Regional Airport.
Police say they responded to the library, 101 East Green Street, just before 1:30 Friday afternoon searched the building with a K9 bomb detection unit.
Their search determined that nothing suspicious or otherwise out of the ordinary was found.
Police then determined there was no threat to the public and so far haven’t released any more details.
They have asked anyone who may have more information about this incident to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
