Former Cortland Standard Business Manager Arrested On Grand Larceny

Local News

A former business manager for the Cortland Standard was arrested by Cortland Police yesterday afternoon (December 6) and now faces felony grand larceny charges.

Police say 52-year-old Stephen W. Clark, of Meadow Drive in Homer, falsified business records during his time at the Standard between August 2013 and October 2018.

In total, Police say Clark’s fraudulent actions stole him about $50,000 he was not entitled to during those months.

Clark is the son of long-time Cortland Standard business manager Wayne Clark.

His arrest is the result of an investigation Cortland Police say began several months ago.

Clark has been released and is schedule to appear in city court on January 2.

X101 News reached out to the Cortland Standard about the story and has so far received no comment.
