The Town of Dryden is currently accepting applications from Town residents interested in serving on one of their volunteer boards.
Board positions do not require specialized training, although the Town encourages you to apply for a board membership based on your strengths.
At this time, openings are available on the Planning Board, the Recreation and Youth Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Agriculture Advisory Committee and the Conservation Board.
–The Planning Board’s purpose includes determining the best use of land while protecting the interests of residents in our town and the review of new subdivision plans including road development and proper drainage. The Planning Board meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 7PM.
–The Recreation and Youth Commission strives to improve the quality of life for all residents of Dryden by facilitating the opportunity to participate in healthy and satisfying recreation and leisure activities. The Recreation Commission meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7PM.
–The Zoning Board of Appeals hears appeals for exceptions to the Town Zoning Ordinance where strict conformity would result in unnecessary hardship. The ZBA only meets when there is a Zoning Variance Application to review.
–The Agricultural Advisory Committee was established in 2013 to advise the Dryden Town Board on issues related to Agriculture and Agriculture related activities. The Ag Committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM.
–The Conservation Board assists and advises in the creation and implementation of plans and policies related to environmental protection and management, open space, natural areas, and agriculture. The Board meets at 7:00PM on the last Tuesday of the month.
