Winter Storm Watch Upgraded To Warning; Heavy Snow Is Possible According To NWS

Update:  Winter Storm Warning in effect from 5:00 PM EST until Friday, 10:00 AM EST. Source: U.S. National Weather Service


Winter Storm Watch goes into effect beginning tomorrow morning at 10am and goes until Friday afternoon at 1pm, says U.S. National Weather Service.

Heavy snow possible. Potential total snow accumulations of as much as 7 or 8 inches.

This Watch is for Cortland, Tompkins, Yates, Seneca, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, and Tioga Counties.

From Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. An initial shot of steady snow is anticipated Thursday afternoon, followed by another round of possibly heavy snow late Thursday night into Friday morning.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
commute.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
