We knew the race for Congressional District 22 was going to be close, but not this close.
Now in the second full day after Election Day, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R) has still not conceded to Anthony Brindisi, the apparent winner of the race.
The numbers currently show that Brindisi defeated Tenney by just over 1,000 votes, less than a single percentage point.
But there are still thousands of absentee votes waiting to be counted in the district that could still sway things in either direction.
Most of the eight counties in District 22 won’t even begin counting their absentees until November 14.–and some, even later.
It looks like we may need another week or more to know for sure who our next congressional representative will be.
