New York’s Department of Education reports that five Central New York colleges were on a list of the top 50 in the state with the most reported Title IX complaints in the first 5 months of 2018.
Cornell University topped the list at #1, with SUNY Cortland at #4 and Syracuse, Ithaca and Oswego all in the top 15.
The reports include incidents like sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
New York’s 2015 “Enough is Enough” law requires all of its schools to report all incidents reported to their Title IX offices.
The state then publishes this data in regular intervals.
