Truxton Academy Charter School has made it through the final round of approvals and is expected to open its doors in September 2019.
The applicant group announced Friday (October 19) that the charter has officially been supported by the State University of New York Charter Schools Institute.
Enrollment for the new academy will begin following public notice that will go out in the spring.
All of those families who have already expressed an interest in sending their children will receive an announcement of the enrollment period.
Truxton Academy will be located in the former Hartnett Elementary School.
It’s the first rural agricultural themed charter school in New York State.
