Cortland Woman Arrested For Welfare Fraud
Local News October 18, 2018 , byA Cortland woman was arrested on Tuesday (October 16) for falsifying employment information that netted her over $6,500 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Cortland Police arrested 41-year-old Kaire Perry of Pendleton Street for reporting false information about her employment to the State Department of Labor from 2013-2016.
She is due back in court next month.
In an unrelated incident, Cortland Police also arrested a man yesterday morning (October 17) after an investigation on Winter Street revealed he was growing 14 marijuana plants in his basement.
Thirty-year-old Nicholas Hopkins of Winter Street was arrested and will also appear in court next month.
