A recent report by state comptroller Thomas DiNapoli shows that jobs within the health care sector are growing in New York State; and faster than jobs in most other industries.
New York’s health care jobs exceeded 1.2 million in 2017 and health care employment rose by more than 18 percent over the past decade, more than double the pace of overall employment growth.
New York ranked third in the nation for its share of health care jobs.
Growth in private sector health care employment occurred in every region of the state over the last decade, with gains of more than 10 percent for six of its ten regions.
