New York State Honors Its Fallen Firefighters

Governor Cuomo directed all flags on state government buildings to be flown at half-staff from Sunday, October 7-Wednesday, October 10 in honor of the brave men and women across the country who have lost their lives while fighting fires.

New York honored its fallen firefighters this morning (October 9) at the 21st Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony in Albany.

The names of 28 firefighters were added to the memorial, which already displays the names of over 2,500 deceased heroes.

Among the 28 names being added today, 22 were FDNY and 19 worked at Ground Zero.
