Multi-State Salmonella Outbreak Linked To Honey Smacks Cereal

The FDA, CDC and state and local officials across the country have investigated a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to Kellogg’s Honey Smacks sweetened puffed wheat cereal.

The cereal is being linked with 135 salmonella illnesses and 34 hospitalizations across 36 states, including New York.

Health officials now say consumers nationwide should avoid eating and throw out any Honey Smacks cereal with a “best if used by” date of June 14, 2019 or earlier.
