An Ithaca-based corporation now faces legal allegations of sexual, racial and anti-immigrant harassment and criminal retaliation from the federal government.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says a plant manager at Porous Materials, Inc regularly used racial slurs and even fired his only black employee when she complained about racist comments he made about her husband.
He also verbally abused and degraded his female employees and commonly made anti-immigrant remarks, as well.
These examples and more were outlined in a lawsuit filed at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.
The EEOC filed suit after first attempting and failing to reach a pre-litigation settlement through its conciliation process.
