Our Very First News Director, Beth Mowins Back For Her 2nd Year Of Calling A Monday Night Football Game

In case you missed her on Monday Night Football, our very first News Director here at WXHC, Beth Mowins was back for her second year calling Monday Night Football on ESPN. She was joined in the booth this year with former NFL quarterback Brian Griese.

Beth began her distinguished broadcasting career on WXHC back in 1991 when the station signed on the air. She worked here for almost four years and started her play by play career by doing high school football and SUNY Cortland broadcasts.

Recently, she had some great memories of getting her start right here in Homer.

Beth was also an intern for station founder and GM John Eves at WTVH channel 5 in Syracuse along with Mike Tirico of NBC sports. Recently, Mike talked about Beth and John, who was named this years distinguished citizen of the year in Cortland County.

Also remembering co-owner Eves was another intern who has made a very big name in sports broadcasting, Ian Eagle of CBS Sports.

Beth, Mike and Ian wil all be doing a lot of NFL football this season.
