Massive Fire Destroys Gun Manufacturing Facility In Dryden

Twelve different fire departments responded to a massive blaze in Dryden Friday afternoon, including Cortlandville, Etna, Dryden, Freeville, Groton, Harford, Homer, Lansing, Locke, McLean, Varna and Virgil.

According to first responders, the fire broke out just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon in the Boltworks Gun Manufacturing Facility on Beam Hill Rd.

Smoke was visible for miles and burning ammunition inside the facility also caused several dangerous explosions to go off during the fire.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The New York State Police and New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control are now investigating the cause of the fire, with additional help from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
