New York Attorney General Investigates Clergy Abuse In Dioceses Statewide

Local News

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced yesterday (September 6) the creation of both a clergy abuse hotline and online complaint form, part of her ongoing investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of children within the New York State dioceses of the Catholic Church.

The Attorney General’s Charities Bureau launched a civil investigation last month into how dioceses and other church entities in New York reviewed and potentially covered up allegations of extensive sexual abuse of minors.

Victims and anyone with information about abuse can now call the hotline at 1-800-771-7755, or file a complaint online at ag.ny.gov/ClergyAbuse.

An investigator will review all allegations and keep all identities anonymous.
