The Cayuga County Health Department announced yesterday that harmful algal blooms continue to be present and widespread in Cayuga and Skaneateles Lakes.
It also confirmed through its Watershed Inspection Program the widespread presence of algae in Owasco Lake, after blooms were first identified near the water intakes early last month.
Sampling and monitoring have now been increased to twice a week at both water treatment facilities in Cayuga County.
Results of the sampling can be found on the Health Department’s website under the “Harmful Algal Blooms” tab. Click HERE.
