Various law enforcement personnel conducted a day of commercial vehicle inspections in Homer last week–and you might be surprised at everything they found.
Members of the Homer Police Department, New York State Police and New York State Environmental Police inspected 28 commercial vehicles from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thursday (August 30), and by the end of the day they found a total of 94 motor vehicle violations and issued 27 traffic tickets.
Five drivers were taken out of service for license violations and 11 commercial vehicles were taken of the road for mandatory repairs.
One driver was even arrested for not having a license, as well as for unlawful possession of marijuana.
The day of inspections came in response to several complaints of commercial vehicles driving through the village of Homer.
