A Homer man was arrested at his own home Tuesday morning after fleeing from Police in his vehicle the night before.
Homer Police say 28-year-old Derek Beckwith was pulled over shortly after midnight Monday for lighting defects in his tail and tag lights.
As the officer approached Beckwith’s car, two passengers got out and fled on foot. Beckwith then took off in the vehicle.
Police initially lost Beckwith, but were later able to identify and arrest him at his home on Cherry Street for Unlawful Fleeing from Police, Aggravated Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and several violations.
He was arraigned before the Town of Homer Court and sent to Cortland County Jail on a $1,000 cash/$2,000 bond release.
