Drunk Driver Causes Mayhem On Luker Road

Cortland County Sheriffs responded to multiple scenes of property damage around 3:30am yesterday (August 7th) on Luker Road in Cortlandville.

Deputies say 22-year-old Kevin Villanueva-Berrera of Virginia was intoxicated and driving westbound when he lost control of his vehicle and veered off the roadway, striking fences, mailboxes and eventually a telephone pole.

Villanueva-Berrera attempted to flea the scene, but deputies were able to follow the trail of debris to his location.

Deputies found him McLean Road.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated w/ BAC of more than 0.08%, failure to keep right, moved from lane unsafely, driving across hazardous markings, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

He was processed, and later released to a third party and is due to appear in the Town of Cortlandville Court on August 27th.
