Man From Cortland Arrested Twice In 12 Hours

New York State Police from Homer arrested Jeffrey Craig, 41, of Cortland, Wednesday evening at 5:30, for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Troopers were called to check on a person observed acting erratically in the town of Truxton.

Officers learned that Craig drove to homes on Route 13.

Troopers observed signs of impairment as they spoke to Craig, and ticketed him to appear in Truxton Court on July 11.

About 11 hours later, early Thursday, a pickup truck hit a man walking on Route 13 in the Town of Homer.

Precisely at 4:20 am Thursday, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers say (the same) Jeffrey Craig, was walking in the middle of the highway and was hit by a small pickup truck heading toward Homer.

Craig was not injured and police say damage to the truck was minor.

Deputies charged Craig with Possession of a Controlled Substance, and failing to walk facing traffic and yield the right of way.

He is to appear in Homer Town Court July 10.
