Cortland Police Arrests Include Assault, Trespass, And Criminal Mischief

Cortland Police arrested Jak’wan Walker of Cortland Thursday morning.

Police say on June 9, he fought with a man at a home on Park Street and punched and kicked him several times, causing a fractured right orbital bone, a broken nose and loss of vision.

Felony Assault is the charge for Jak’wan Walker, who was in the Cortland County Jail awaiting $5,000 cash bail and a court appearance Friday, according to police.


Thursday morning, Cortland Police tried to arrest Dustin Mack, 29, of Cortland, on a parole warrant.

Officers say Mack was spotted on Groton Avenue, but he ran away and fought with them when he was caught.

They found him with a needle.

Mack faces charges of Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Possession of that needle and was jailed without bail.


Jordan Price, 28, of Cortland, was arrested Thursday afternoon for trespass.

Police say the Cortland man went into a home on Clayton Avenue at 2 am on June 10 and shouldn’t have been in there.

Price was released following arraignment and is to return to Cortland City Court on July 11.


A 23-year old woman from Binghamton was arrested Thursday afternoon around 2 pm.

Cortland Police say Ashley Salvemini is charged with felony criminal mischief and felony contempt.

Lt. Rick Troyer reports that Tuesday night at 11, she spray-painted a vehicle that belonged to a 33-year old man on Frederick Street.

That man had an order of protection against her.

She was released and told to return to court July 11.


Police visiting a home on Main Street looking for someone chatted with Crystal Cardarelloo, who is 33 years old.

They didn’t find what they were looking for at that address, but found Cardarelloo had a needle.

She was ticketed for possession and her next court day is July 6.
