A loud muffler prompted a Cortland County Police officer to stop a vehicle driven by Martha Searle, 38, of Berkshire, on Rt 11 in Cortlandville at 2:30 am today (Wednesday).
The officer found Searle to be intoxicated, with some drugs in the vehicle.
Police say Searle also had two children with her – they were released to family members.
Searle’s charges include felony DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana Possession and the traffic tickets.
She was to be arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court today (Wednesday).
A two car crash Tuesday afternoon at 2 in front of Tops Plaza led to the arrest of Jason Hyde, 37, of Cortland.
According to information provided by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department, Hyde rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at the intersection on Rt 281.
No one was injured, according to deputies.
Hyde was found to be driving while impaired by drugs, arrested, arraigned and sent to the Cortland County Jail with no bail allowed.
Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a domestic incident at midday on May 15 in the City of Cortland.
Sgt Anthony Phelps reports that Patrick Cobane, 25, tried to contact someone who had an Order of Protection against him.
Cobane was arrested Friday and charged with Aggravated Family Offense and Criminal Contempt, with arraignment in Cortland City Court this morning (Wednesday).
