Elijah Sharp Is Second Person Sentenced In String Of Cortland Burglaries

Local News

Last August, the Cortland A&W Restaurant was burglarized and the ATM was taken.

One of the men involved in that burglary and others along Port Watson and Tompkins Streets accepted a plea to felony Attempted Burglary last week in Cortland County Court.

Elijah Sharp faces a 1-1/2 to 3 year prison sentence.

According to a pre-sentence report read in court, Sharp and others were involved in break-ins at The Kleen Korner (target of another ATM), as well as a diner, movie theatre and recycling center.

Sentencing was scheduled so that he could observe the Muslim holiday of Ramadan at the Cortland County Jail.

Ramadan ends June 14, Sharp will be sentenced on June 19.

Another man involved in the burglaries, Chad Henry, was sentenced earlier.
