CFCU Community Credit Union is marking the passing of former CEO, Bob Witty.
Witty died Friday, at the age of 69.
Witty started at CFCU Community Credit Union in 1969 as an assistant manager, and within 15 years worked his way up to CEO.
According to information provided by CFCU, Witty led the credit union to rapid growth.
Witty was described as a dedicated advocate for the credit union movement and had an impact on credit unions at the local, state and national level.
His achievements led him to be inducted into the New York Credit Union Hall of Fame in 2010.
Witty was also an active community leader and sat on several boards and community councils.
Calling hours will be Thursday at the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden and the funeral will be there on Friday.
