Man Accused Of Damaging At Least Three Homes In Cortland Spree

Cody Guernsey, who is 36, of Cortland, found himself in the Cortland County Jail Thursday evening.

Cortland Police say he was arrested a little after 5 pm.

Guernsey is accused of entering a home on Garfield street without permission, damaging a door at a Pendleton Street home, and damaging a wall at a home on Elm Street.

Guernsey was charged with Criminal Mischief and Trespass.

His bail was set at $500 and he’s due back in City Court today.


A woman who is accused of stealing a laptop from a home on Central Avenue was arrested by Cortland Police officers a little after 8 pm Thursday night.

Julie Milton, 32, told police she was homeless.

She was charged for the theft and for the hypodermic instrument police say they found on her.

Milton’s due in City Court Friday morning.
