Ten New Citizens Welcomed By Justice Phillip Rumsey

State Supreme Court Justice Phillip Rumsey opened court Tuesday for a Naturalization Ceremony.

Ten people from around Central New York recited the oath of citizenship with County Clerk Betsy Larkin.

They were welcomed as citizens during remarks by Freeville’s Amy Dickinson and Truxton Town Councilman Ghassan “Gus” Wehbe.

Rumsey applauded Wehbe for addressing every citizenship ceremony since he took the oath in 1996 after coming over from Lebanon.

Wehbe urged all to “never stop dreaming the American dream.”

The new USA recruits and their big smiles come from countries such as Argentina, Burma, the Dominican Republic, France, Germany, China, Ukraine and Venezuela.
