State Police Announce Two Arrests For Larcenies

The New York State Police are reporting the arrest of Amanda Gooden of Marathon.

On Wednesday March 21st at about 4:15 p.m., New York State Police at Homer arrested Amanda J. Gooden, age 37 of Marathon for the misdemeanor of Petit Larceny.

Gooden’s arrest came troopers investigated a shoplifting complaint at Walmart on Bennie Rd., in the town of Cortlandville. The investigation revealed that Gooden stole merchandise valued at $34.20.

Gooden was released on an appearance ticket. She is due in the town of Cortlandville Court on April 2, 2018.


Troopers out of Ithaca have arrested a Homer women after she wrote a bad check.

On Wednesday of this week 12:05 p.m. New York State Police arrested Kathleen C. Bell, age 38 of Homer for the felony of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree and the misdemeanor of Issuing a Bad Check.

Troopers began an investigation on December 28, 2017 when a business owner in the town of Groton reported that they were issued a check and it was returned due to insufficient funds. Troopers learned that the check was to purchase over $2,000 worth of concrete.

Bell was arraigned in the town of Groton and released on her own recognizance and will return to court on a later date.
