Man Shot Early Friday, Ithaca Police Seek Two Suspects

Ithaca Police Department were called to a home in the 400 block of Lake Ave to investigate a reported shooting at about 1:30 am Friday.

Tompkins County 9-1-1 advised that a female caller had stated that a male had been shot inside the residence. Further information provided was that the victim was alert and two male suspects had fled the scene.

Officers located the victim, spoke with witnesses, and gathered suspect information. Several sworn statements were obtained.

The victim remained alert and conscious as police arrived. Air Medivac was requested, but unavailable. Bangs Ambulance transported the victim to a regional trauma center.

IPD’s Crime Scene Unit responded to the location and collected evidence.

The victim was in stable condition as of this morning.

The witnesses described the suspects as follows:

  • Suspect 1: Black male, slim build, approximately 5’9” tall, 190 lbs, light to medium complexion, wearing an all black sweat suit. This male reportedly had the hood up with the strings drawn tight.
  • Suspect 2: Black male, large build, approximately 6’1” tall, 240 lbs., dark complexion, wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt.

Ithaca Police report this does not appear to be a random incident, however, the investigation is ongoing.
