Woman Admits Serving as Lookout in Cortland Burglary

Local News

A Cortland County woman will serve six months in jail for her role in a Cortland burglary last December.

30-year-old Jamie Ferris appeared in county court Thursday and pled guilty to a single felony count of burglary.

Ferris along with 29-year-old Joshua Fortin of Homer and 32-year-old Patrick Mazzone were all accused of breaking into a home on Pine Street last year. They reportedly took jewelry and a shotgun.

Yesterday, Ferris admitted she acted as a lookout for the crime. She said the items taken were sold for cash, but she did not receive any of the money.

In exchange for the plea, she will be sentenced to six months in jail and faces five years of probation.
