Police In Cortland Report Arrests From The Weekend

Felony Grand Larceny and Identity Theft charges were lodged Sunday afternoon against Xavier Perez, 25, of Cortland.

Cortland Police say it’s connected to the theft of a wallet on New Year’s Eve from a home on Pleasant Street.

According to information provided by Lt. Rick Troyer, Perez used one of the credit cards at three places in the city.

He is at the Cortland County Jail awaiting bail and court on Wednesday.


Cortland Police did not accept the identification given them by Ryan Auzans, 21, of Cortland, on Friday afternoon.

Officers say Auzans gave them false information to avoid arrest on a bench warrant from the City of Binghamton.

Auzans was turned over to Binghamton Police, and he’s also due in Cortland for a city court appearance next month.


Zachariah Maxwell, who is 19, from Cortland, was arrested on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.

Cortland Police officers charged him with Criminal Mischief after he kicked in a door at a residence on Northcliffe, damaging the door.

Maxwell was released to appear in Cortland City Court on February 9.


Police say Marc Brown, 44, of Cortland, was arrested early Saturday at 1:35 am.

Brown was charged with DWI, and for driving the wrong way on Main Street.

Lt. Rick Troyer says he was released until his next court appearance January 31.


Cortland Police also report the arrest of Ashley Bigladeri, 28, who told officers she was homeless.

She was charged on Saturday evening with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Police say she was arrested on a bench warrant from Cortland City Court and found to be in possession of cocaine.

According to police, she was sent to the Cortland County Jail awaiting bail and an appearance in Cortland City Court today (Monday).
