Jimmy Page: More Unreleased Led Zeppelin Music Coming In 2018

Music News

Multiple online sources are quoting a new Jimmy Page interview in which he reveals that previously unheard and unreleased Led Zeppelin material will see the light of day in 2018. GuitarWorld.com reported that Page, who was filmed by the Academy of Achievement, said, quote, “There’ll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven’t heard, because I’m working on that. Next year will be the 50th year, so there’s all manner of surprises coming out.” Back in October, LedZepNews.com reported John Davis, the engineer who worked with Page on the recent “deluxe expanded” Zeppelin reissues, wrote a since-deleted Facebook post, stating he had spent the day “mostly mastering Led Zeppelin.”

Back in 2015, Jimmy Page told us that by doubling the Zeppelin catalogue with the deluxe remasters, it finally gives Zep fans the full picture of what the group created in the studio over its decade-long run. Curiously, he also maintained that it closed the door on future vault releases: “What I wanted to do, in effect was to be able to show everything that was there in the vaults in such a good way, is that what it means at the end of the day is these sort of soundbytes that were there before; there’s now twice as much studio material — it completes the whole of the picture. And that’s it. It’s been done, it’s been done authoritatively and that’s it. I mean, I really did believe that it was the right project to do.”
