On December 15, 2017, at about 7:59 pm, New York State Police from Homer arrested Calvin Harris, 56, of Owego, for msdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated.
According to police, Harris’ blood alcohol content was .13%.
Harris was also ticketed for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and other traffic violations.
The arrest occurred after trooper responded to investigate a hit and run property damage accident that occurred on I-81 South in Preble.
A Cortland County 911 caller reported that a GMC Sierra pick-up truck had side swiped their vehicle while both vehicles were traveling south on Interstate 81.
The caller continued to follow the GMC Sierra and informed police when it exited I-81 at Exit 12 (Homer).
Troopers stopped the vehicle on Hillside Drive in Cortlandville.
Upon approach, troopers identified the driver as Calvin Harris and further investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.
Harris was issued tickets returnable to the town of Preble Court on January 9, 2018.
He was found not guilty of murdering his wife in May of 2016. Concluding a lengthy four separate murder trials.
