SU Basketball
Beat UConn, 72-63. The Orange Host Colgate Saturday at 2. We’ll have the game on, Presented by CRMC.

The Knicks lost to the Pacers, 115-97. The Knicks face the Grizzlies tomorrow at 7:30.

SUNY Cortland Basketball
Beat New Paltz, 89-73. Cortland will travel to Fredonia Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Buffalo State Saturday at 3 p.m. for SUNYAC contests.

The Giants face the Cowboys Sunday at 1.
The Bills face the Colts Sunday at 1.
The Jets face the Broncos Sunday at 4:05.

The Islanders lost to the Lightning, 6-2. The Islanders face the Penguins Thursday at 7.
The Rangers beat the Penguins, 4-3. The Rangers face the Capitals Friday at 7.
The Sabres beat the Avalanche, 4-2. The Sabres face the Blackhawks Friday at 8:30.

Syracuse Crunch
The Crunch are at the Utica Comets Wednesday at 7.

The International Olympic Committee has banned Russia from competing at the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea. The ban is over the country’s doping scandal and it also means Russian officials are forbidden to attend, its flag will not be displayed and its anthem will not play. However, Russian athletes that test negative for drugs will be allowed to compete independently.

The New York Giants have a new coach and an old quarterback. It’s reported that Eli Manning will return as the Giants’ starting quarterback for Sunday’s home game against the Cowboys.

The one-game suspension of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been upheld and Gronk will sit out Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Gronkowski was penalized after he drove his shoulder into the back of Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White after a play ended.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and Cincinnati Bengals safety George Iloka have both been suspended one game for their hits in Monday night’s game.

Colin Kaepernick received the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award during the 2017 Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards last night. Kaepernick was presented the award by surprise guest Beyonce, who thanked him for his selfless heart, his conviction and his personal sacrifice. (See here)

The Golden State Warriors say that Stephen Curry is out for
at least two weeks with a sprained right ankle. Curry injured his ankle during Monday night’s game against the Pelicans.

The New York Knicks will be without Tim Hardaway Jr. for an indefinite period of time. The team says Hardaway Jr. has begun rehab for a stress injury to his lower left leg and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker suffered a strained left adductor muscle in his groin during his team’s loss to Toronto last night. It’s said that injuries of this type can take multiple weeks to heal. (See here)

Florida State has named Oregon’s Willie Taggart as its new head coach. Taggart becomes only the third FSU permanent head coach in the last 40 years.
