Ithaca Police are looking for a bank robber.
In a release to news media, the department reports that a man with a gun demanded money at the Tompkins County Trust Company branch on Meadow Street a little after 4:30 pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Police say he ran off with some cash.
No one was injured.
Here is additional information on the suspect, as provided by Ithaca Police:
- At this time it has been determined that a black male entered the bank with a handgun held down to his side and approached a bank teller to demand that money be put into a white plastic bag that he was holding.
- The male was dressed in a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, white sneakers, and had a mask covering his face. He is described as having a thin build, approximately 5’10” tall, and a soft spoken voice.
- The bank teller complied with his demands, and the male then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The male was last seen fleeing to the south behind businesses located on Elmira Rd.
- Further video evidence revealed that the suspect was seen standing near the bank for several minutes before committing the robbery.
