The City of Cortland Common Council started Tuesday evening with a public hearing on its proposed budget for 2018, but later, several agenda items related to the budget had to be tabled until December 5. There are a couple of details to knock out first.
Also at the meeting:
- Mike Dexter previewed the City Tree program for 2018, check the city website and apply soon
- The Council went on record opposing limitations on the deduction of State and Local taxes
- (The Tompkins County Legislature took the same vote, agreeing.)
- Council members also approved bonding to pay for the $4-million reconstruction of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant
