PSC Offers Prediction On Winter Electricity And Natural Gas Prices

Local News

The State Public Service Commission says the price of electricity this winter should be lower than average, but the price of natural gas will be up a bit.

According to the state agency, utilities such as NYSEG and National Grid have adequate supplies and capacity to meet the need, in case we get a harsh winter.

As an example, the PSC says the average electrical customer might pay 16% less than the 5-year average price.

Natural gas costs could be about 2% higher, but all this depends on a lot of variables, including how cold it is.
