Man Accused Of Menacing, Two Others Accused Of Hiding Him In Attic

Cortland Police say Richard Hoy, 34, pointed a knife at another man and threatened to stab him last Wednesday afternoon at a Main Street home.

Police say Hoy told them he was homeless, and didn’t have a place to live.

Officers caught up to him Saturday evening at a home on Cleveland Street.

Hoy is accused of fighting with officers prior to his arrest.

Two people from the home on Cleveland Street are accused of hiding Hoy in their attic.

Hoy is charged with felony Menacing, Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. He’s jailed with no bail, due in City Court today (Monday).

Stacy Updike, 30, and Raymond Cole, Jr., 56, who lived at the Cleveland Street home, are charged with Hindering Prosecution.

Updike was released awaiting a return to court next month.

Cole’s in jail awaiting bail and he’s also due in court today (Monday).
