Organizers of the Truxton Academy Charter School hold their monthly meeting Monday night.
The school’s application is again before SUNY in Albany.
If accepted, leaders would meet with the agency in Albany to explain their plans.
The meeting is at the Truxton Community Center at 7 pm.
Also Monday night, the Dryden Board of Education meets.
One agenda item is to pay Dryden police officers $100 an hour when they are assigned to school events.
St. Mary’s Parents Group meets, and PTO’s at Cortland Parker Elementary, Homer and Groton Elementary Schools meet.
In DeRuyter, the Board of Education continues to evaluate school district facilities, but feels the most immediate need is to renovate the auditorium. As students return to school, the district notified parents of Community Forum in two weeks, and a possible vote on renovations for December.
Parents in DeRuyter are also being asked if they would mind if the district newsletter could be converted to online only. Six issues a year are printed and mailed, at about a thousand dollars an issue for printing and postage. Parents yes or no votes are to go to the District Clerk Sandy Welch, by October 1.
How would you like to receive the DeRuyter School District Newsletter?
Yes – please continue to mail the newsletter! I look forward to receiving a paper copy in the mail!
No – I would rather save the District money and view the Newsletter on line at the District’s web site (www.deruytercentral.org).
Please return your response to Sandy Welsh, DeRuyter Central School, 711 Railroad Street, DeRuyter, NY 13052 no later than October 1, 2017. You may also indicate your preference by e-mailing a note to Sandy at email@example.com.
