City Council, County Legislature Among Meetings Planned For Tonight

Cortland City Council is expected to hear about new Recycling containers for Main St. at its meeting Tuesday night.

Other agenda items include:

  • exotic pet permits: one for three ferrets, another for chickens.
  • the local law placing food trucks could be approved
  • the Mayor wants aldermen to talk about sales tax distribution, hoping the county will restore a percentage the city gave up temporarily.

Council meets at 7 at City Hall.


Cortland County Legislators planned to review department budgets all day Tuesday, including the Sheriff, Emergency Services, District Attorney/Public Defender, Probation, and County Clerk.


The Tompkins County Legislature could make official the $925-thousand sale of the former County Library at its meeting Tuesday night.

The building gets new life as a 58-unit DeWitt House apartment project.

Legislators also intend to recognize the Groton Library on its 100th anniversary.


Also Tuesday night, the Freeville Village Board meets.
