Welcome Students! SUNY Cortland Move In Day

Local News

First-year students at SUNY Cortland move into their dorms Thursday afternoon.

Cortland gets a little busier this time of year, as drivers figure out our one-way Main Street and learn the shortcuts over the hill.

For the move-in, Prospect Terrace and Neubig Road become two lanes one-way to safely sort out the students by the building they’re headed to.

Cortland Police work closely with University Police to make the return to campus go smoothly, especially for students in off-campus housing.

Cortland Police Chief Michael Catalano says officers will be going door to door to build relationships with students, and offer a pamphlet with suggestions on being good neighbors.

The Cortland Fire Department Codes unit also goes door-to-door to help students understand their rights as tenants along with fire safety advice.
