Job And Income At Issue In Welfare Fraud Arrest

Welfare Fraud charges for a 40-year old man from Cortland, who was arrested by Cortland County Sheriff’s Investigator/Sgt Jason Newcomb Thursday.

Adam Gregg is accused of not telling the Cortland County Department of Social Services about his job and income.

Authorities contend he received more than $1,400 in benefits that he was not entitled to.

The felony Welfare Fraud and Grand Larceny charges followed an investigation into his activity between May and July.

Gregg is to return to Cortland City Court on Wednesday.
