Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, & Edgar Winter Hit The Road Beginning Tomorrow

Music News

Alice Cooper kicks off his summer triple bill tour this weekend with Deep Purple and Edgar Winter. The trek kicks off on Saturday (August 12th) at Las Vegas’ The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan and winds down just over a month later on September 10th at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center. Alice Cooper is touring behind his just-released 27th album, Paranormal. Paranormal features a two-track reunion with the original Alice Cooper Band — Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway, and Michael Bruce — along with contributions from U2’s Larry Mullen, Jr., Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, and ZZ Top’s Bill Gibbons. In April, Deep Purple released its latest album, Infinite — which, like Alice’s new set, featured legendary producer Bob Ezrin behind the boards.

Alice told us that this summer’s tour is essentially a “win-win-win” situation for the crowd: “Coming up with the tour with Deep Purple; when you get two classic rock bands together, you’re gonna get so much music. First of all, Edgar Winter is going to be opening for everything and he just kills it — he’s been on tour for as long as I have, pretty much. And then you get the classic Deep Purple. Every single song is something you’ve heard on the radio. The guys are super musicians — super cool guys, also. And a totally different kind of show than we are.”
