Fireworks, Parade Highlight Annual Brockway Truck Weekend

Local News

Like Fireworks? As part of this year’s Brockway Truck Show, The Summit Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a fireworks display in Cortland tonight (Friday) at 9:30 pm. The show follows the Brockway live auction at 7:30.

Jim Price of the Brockway Truck Preservation Association tells us about Saturday morning’s annual Brockway Truck Parade, which begins at the CNY Living History Center on Homer Avenue in Cortland. “Starts from the Museum at 8:30, winds its way down to Main Street,” said Price. “Then, the trucks park on Main Street – the three blocks of one-way Main Street in Cortland.”

The trucks will park and be on display on Main Street until 3:30 pm. Main Street will be closed between Groton Ave/Clinton Ave and Tompkins St/Port Watson Street from 6 am to 4 pm. Vehicles will have to vacate Main Street by 8 am.

“Years ago, there was an all-make truck show, on Sunday,” said Price. “That has restarted. The annual south-central New York chapter of ATCA All-Make Truck Show will be here from 8 am to 3 pm on Sunday.”
