Cortland County District Attorney Patrick Perfetti provided an update on one of his goals from last year’s campaign.
He proposed bringing to Cortland an “Angel Program” to fight drugs.
The D-A says this is a Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative: People struggling with addiction come to the police station, turn in their drugs and paraphernalia, and are taken to a guaranteed spot in a treatment program without arrest.
Perfetti reports that his Angel Program Working Group is making progress.
The group includes Cortland County Community Services Director Mark Thayer, Cortland County Health Director Catherine Feuerherm, Perfetti, and Cortland City Mayor Brian Tobin.
