Animal cruelty investigators say a man from Cortland was arrested Friday.
William Carr, the Chief Investigative Officer with the Cortland County SPCA identifies the man as Larry Twedt, who is 60 years old.
In a statement to X101, Carr indicated that Twedt used an illegal leg-gripping trap in the city, and killed a neighbor’s cat that got in the trap.
Twedt will answer to the tickets for using the illegal trap, and for the death of the cat, separately on Monday and Friday next week.
The arrest came after a neighbor noticed the cat in the trap on April 20 and called the SPCA.
