Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies Report Four Arrests

Someone saw a man going through a dumpster behind a business in Polkville Friday morning.

Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies found Ryan Hough, 28, near there.

Deputies say Hough had meth on him and a gravity knife, even though a court previously ruled he should not have one.

Hough told officers he didn’t have a place to live.

He was arraigned and sent to the County Jail awaiting bail over the weekend.

A bad brake light on a vehicle going down Pomeroy Street in Cortland at 3:20 am on Sunday prompted a Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputy to stop the vehicle.

A passenger was a fugitive wanted by a sheriff in South Carolina.

William Johnson, 35, of Hartsville, South Carolina was sent to the Cortland County Jail with no bail.

 


On Monday morning, a little after 8:30, Sheriff’s deputies were tipped that a man wanted as a fugitive from Florida was in the Village of McGraw.

Michael Case, who is 37, was wanted by the Sheriff in Bradford County, Florida for removing an ankle bracelet and taking off.

Case was in custody on a charge of sexual battery to a child and he was also sent to the county jail with no bail.


Criminal Mischief and Harassment charges following a fight on Homestead Avenue in Cortland at about 6 Monday night.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies say they found Amanda Card, 24, had fought with someone and damaged property.

Card was arraigned, released and is due back in Town of Cortlandville Court on Monday.
