Updated: Storm’s Wrath Brings Down Trees, Limbs And Power Lines

A Severe Thunderstorm in Northern Cortland County has brought down multiple trees and wires.

National Grid is reporting scattered outages.

In the Preble area, over a thousand customers are without power. In the Truxton area, over two thousand customers are without power. Power should be restored by 7:30 in both areas. And over 1,400 customers are without power in the DeRuyter area. No indication of when power will be restored there, according to National Grid.

According to emergency radio reports, trees are down on many county roads making some of them impassable as emergency personal work to clear debris.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning that was in effect until 6:45 for Cortland County has just expired.
