Fire damaged part of the north building at Pall Trinity complex on Rt 281 in Cortlandville early Tuesday.

This is the building across 281 from the college solar panel farm.

At about 4:50 am, a detector alerted dispatchers to a fire in an industrial oven, according to information confirmed by the Cortlandville chief.

By the time the first Cortlandville fire units arrived, smoke was venting through the roof, prompting a call for extra help from Cortland, Homer, and six additional area departments.

Everyone inside the building got out safely.

TLC ambulance returned to Pall a little after 6 am to assist a firefighter in his mid-30s who fell about six feet and may have injured a hand and leg.

The cause of the oven fire is under investigation.
