National Grid customers, the days of price stability are likely to end soon.
According to information provided by the utility, the company Friday filed to raise the cost of electricity 13.9%, and delivery 21.8% for residential customers beginning next April.
Natural gas would go up 14.9% with delivery up 24.9% for the average customer.
The rate hike request must be approved by the state Public Service Commission.
National Grid says it has kept bills stable for a decade and invested $6-billion in its infrastructure.
